DC defeat PBKS – Shikhar Dhawan slams 92, now has Orange Cap: Delhi Capitals opening batsman Shikhar Dhawa has continued his red-hot form in IPL 2021. He scored a quickfire 50 off 31 balls against Punjab Kings in the run chase. In his innings, Dhawan smashed as many as 8 boundaries. He also shared fifty runs opening partnership with Prithvi Shaw. He took on all the Punjab Kings bowlers including pace spearhead Mohammad Shami.

Dhawan, 35, went to score 92 runs off 49 balls, which featured 13 fours and 2 sixes. He was dismissed in the 15th over after placing Delhi Capitals in a match-winning situation.

With his fifty, Shikhar Dhawan has jumped in the top spot in the Orange Cap race.

Dhawan had previously scored unbeaten 85 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2021.

The 35-year-old is among few players who have completed 5,000 runs in IPL. In his career, he has slammed 43 fifties and 2 centuries in IPL.

In the match, DC’s Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl. Mayank Agarwal’s sensational knock and a final over cameo by Shahrukh Khan propelled Punjab Kings to put an impressive 195 for four against Delhi Capitals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening.
